Minden Mill 5 Year Old American Single Malt Whiskey is made entirely at Minden Mill’s 1,200-acre estate in Nevada’s high desert. The mash uses 100% estate-grown and malted barley, developed to a Vienna-roast level for deeper caramel character. Clear-wort fermentation leads into double distillation in hand-built Forsyth pot stills heated by a thermal-oil calandria system, a precise high-temperature method designed to encourage Maillard-driven roasted and caramelized flavors. The whiskey ages for five years on site in a climate-controlled rickhouse across oloroso sherry, ex-bourbon, and American oak casks. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof) in a 750 mL format.

The producer describes an aroma of fig, caramel, golden raisin, candied plum, honeycomb, almond, and light tobacco leaf. On the palate, rich caramel and dried cherry open into fruit compote, honey, and sweet malt, supported by a notably luxurious mouthfeel. Cherry tobacco and light allspice shape the finish, extending the whiskey’s fruit, malt, and oak character without losing the roasted depth created during malting and distillation. This combination of dried fruit, honeyed sweetness, and measured spice gives the single malt a layered sensory arc from its fragrant opening through its gently savory close.
