Originally designed as a battlecruiser, she was converted into one of the Navy's first aircraft carriers during construction to comply with the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922. Kit features (2-piece waterline plate and hull), single piece flight deck with engraved surface detail, detailed (superstructures and bridge), weapons suite (40mm quadruple guns, single cannons, 20mm guns and other fine deck fittings), life rafts and ships boats, Aircraft catapult, (4 ea) Hellcat and Avenger aircraft with radar pods, extensive 'Ponto's' detail up photoetch and metal gun barrels.
